WRLDs is an organization involved in the design and dissemination of Social Objects.
We undertake a series of projects which address a single discipline, whose complexity makes it opaque to others. Our first project addresses the financial markets. For each project we develop a "mechanism" that allows those involved or those who are observing the field to work collaboratively to generate Social Objects.
Social Objects are physical objects that embody information and are carried out into the broader culture, shifting meaning and creating new ways to approach specialized knowledge. As visual objects, their meaning can be easily distributed, subtly creating change and transparency.
WRLDs recently initiated a call for participation, motivated by the past few weeks of market upheaval, and the impact it is having on our global culture. We are seeking input from those deeply involved in the financial markets. We are asking participants to tell us what they believe to be the most important market event, (or series of events), that occurred recently, as well as any other correlating cultural events. We will use this information to generate a Micro-WRLDs Object.
A Micro-WRLDs Object is a simple art object, that conveys editorial content as a "micro-monument", reflecting and documenting pivotal and combinatorial moments in the financial markets which impact us all. As an artifact of history, it drifts into unexpected places, drawing others into the layers of the market, allowing new questions to be formulated by those outside the financial sector, making it more transparent.
Micro-WRLDs Objects are produced in limited editions, and created using a combination of digital and hand production techniques.

What to Provide
Your ideas need to include price and volume shifts or patterns, over a defined time frame, within a specific stock, (or other instrument), as well as world events, market changes, media events, or financial events that occurred at the same time.
Please email us your ideas. If your idea is used as the basis of our next Micro-WRLDs Object, you will receive every Micro-WRLDs Objects we generate, over the next 12 months, as our thank-you for your participation. Please note that you will need to sign up for membership in order to submit your ideas.
Also, all those who sign up for membership, before May 1st, will be eligible to participate in an upcoming drawing of all new members on or around May 1st. The winner will receive a custom Micro-WRLDs Object, generated according to the specifications and subject, provided by the winner.
Membership also provides access to the WRLDs Foyer, our soon to open social networking site for the collaborative production and sharing of Social Objects. It will be online shortly...
